Conducting a Disciplinary Meeting
If, having completed the investigation, it is decided to progress to a disciplinary meeting / hearing, there are clear steps to follow as outlined below:
Write to the Employee
When you ask the employee to attend a meeting you need to write to them to include the following:
Confirm the date and time of the meeting. Provide advance notice of the hearing (2 working days / 48 hours from receipt of the letter or as outlined in your procedure).
Who will be attending the meeting from the Company i.e. chairperson and notetaker
Confirm the purpose of the meeting, i.e. that it is a formal disciplinary meeting or a formal capability meeting.
